Sweet 'n Spicy Beetroot Latte đŸŒč Valentine's Day Recipe

Sending you a whole LATTE love this Valentine's day. 💖 Pink limited edition Baci chocolates from Epicerie Marinelli, roses and pink beet lattes full of healthy nutrients for the heart. I made two lattes for the gram, but who am I kidding, I'm drinkin' em both. They taste deliciously sweet and spicy. Enjoy these in bed with all the things you love, including humans or animals if you are lucky to have them nearby.

BEETROOT LATTE

Ingredients: 2 shots of Espresso per cup, I used Grand Trunk by Canal Roasters Milk of choice (as much as you like) Beetroot Jam (recipe below) lazy cheat: use pink food colouring! Directions: Brew your espresso any way you like! I used my espresso machine. Add 1 tablespoon of beetroot jam to your milk jug. Warm up the milk on the stove top while stirring so the milk turns pink. Use a hand frother to froth the milk, or if you have an espresso machine you can use your steamer.

BEETROOT JAM Yield: about 400ml of homemade jam Ingredients: 2 large fresh beets, or 4 small, remove peel and dice into small cubes 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 medium lemon- juiced 1 cinnamon stick (3 inches) 3 drops Doterra Cassia oil (optional) 1 cup white sugar 1/3 cup maple syrup Salt to taste Directions: To roast the beets, sprinkle vegetable oil over the beets and bake in the oven for 45 mins at 350 degrees, until soft. I used parchment paper to keep from sticking. When beets are cooked, let them cool down. Using a hand blender or magic bullet, blend the beets with lemon juice and a tad of cold water until you create a jam consistency. Pour the mixture into a small saucepan, add all the rest of the ingredients, sugars and maple syrup, and let simmer for an hour on low until thick jam-like texture.

*Wash your things quickly, the beets tend to turn things pink💓🙂*

I added a few drops of Cassia Doterra Essential Oil to my homemade beetroot jam to give it a bit of heat. Cassia tastes a lot like cinnamon and balances nicely with the sugars from the beets and maple syrup. Cassia oil can also be taken internally to support healthy immune function and to maintain cardiovascular health. All the love for this essential oil. Thanks to my good friend Solmaz, my Essential Oils guru, for this lovely introduction.

Sending you a whole Latte Love.
