This recipe blends the warmth of ginger and molasses with the smooth, spicy and calming notes of Zen espresso, making it a perfect drink to soothe the soul in the evenings… so that you’re not awake all night spiralling from too much caffeine. 🌀 🎄
🗒️ Ingredients:
- 1 shot MTL Latte Heart Zen espresso
- 1 tbsp molasses (for a rich, deep sweetness)
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger (for a spicy kick)
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (for warmth)
- 1 tbsp simple syrup (adjust sweetness to taste)
- 1 cup steamed milk (your choice of milk or non-dairy alternative)
- Ground cinnamon or ginger to sprinkle on top
👩🏻🍳
1. Prepare the espresso: Brew a shot of MTL Latte Heart Zen espresso
2. Mix the molasses and spices: In a small bowl, combine the molasses, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves (if using). Add the simple syrup and stir until the spices and molasses are dissolved into the syrup, creating a smooth spiced base.
3. Steam the milk: Steam your milk to a velvety, frothy texture. If using a non-dairy alternative, choose one that froths well, like oat milk or almond milk.
4. Combine the espresso and spiced syrup: Pour the brewed espresso into the bottom of your cup. Add the spiced molasses syrup mixture and stir well to combine.
5. Pour the steamed milk: Slowly pour the steamed milk into the mug, stirring gently as you go. You should have a smooth, creamy latte with a beautiful foamy top.
6. Sprinkle a little ground cinnamon or ginger on top for an extra hint of spice and visual appeal.
Enjoy while cuddling up beside your Christmas tree 🎄🥰
