5 Hidden Gem Cafés | Perfect for a Half-day Road Trip

It may feel like we are all facing a huge road block in our lives right now. I had to postpone my coffee crawl trip to Spain this summer *excuse me while I cry into my coffee*. While cancelled plans are the least of our worries, I am finding comfort in knowing that some of my happiest moments have been right here in Montreal, or just a short drive outside of the downtown core. Let's keep our dreams alive! There will be many things to do locally when things finally come back to life, this too shall pass. Here are some hidden gem cafés that are just a quick drive from the Montreal downtown core! Who's driving? Shotty front seat ;).

About a week before social distancing began, I went on an afternoon drive with my dear friend Nikki to test drive her new wheels. *OMG, I MISS MY FRIENDS!* We drove to Bromont and had coffee, tea and a soup-du-jour at Café 1792. The little village in Bromont is humble and quaint. It's the perfect spot to visit on a sunny day, to hop around the local shops and find some little treasures for your home.

If I owned a house in the beautiful village of Hudson,Quebec, this is what it would look and smell like! This is a Third Wave and lifestyle café, full of the cutest local finds. I can't wait to spend a Sunday morning relaxing on the terasse with a bagel and lox, surrounded by all the pretty jars of flowers.

Coffee, love and kisses; hence the name "Cafexo"! I absolutely love this spot! I am so grateful to have discovered it as most of my besties live in Vaudreuil. Spend the perfect afternoon driving over to Vaudreuil, pick up a latte and snack, then cross the street to chill down by the lake.

This is a Canadian lavender farm in the Eastern Townships. Enjoy a full day in the fields by yourself or with your family and friends, and some bees. Stroll around the grounds, pack a picnic and visit the little shop where you will find lavender essential oils for the body, home products, and obviously coffee and chocolate.They also serve lavender lemonade, lattes and dessert in the café. I really hope this beautiful spot reopens this summer! I remember the sweet smell of lavender as I pulled up in my car. Take me back to all that zen!

Here's a cozy spot that you NEED to visit if you're heading up north! The village in Val-David has such great energy. Yes, it is possible for shops and a neighborhood to give off a great vibe! Le Magasin General was a pleasant discovery when my 3 girlfriends and I took a weekend trip to a chalet just up the road. We walked through the village and read some tarot cards at this café. The front of the shop is filled with gourmet products and all the home accessories you never knew you needed.
